Pattern
Yarnbox included pattern from Rhiannon McCulloch called So Boho
This is such a fun new pattern to work out! Two the the main stitches used are the Cloth Stitch and the Quilted Lattice and both are new to me. When I first saw the main hat body, I thought “how am I gonna make those Xs??!” and then I learnt how! This is one of the joys of knitting and crocheting, you are always always learning something new, so it never gets boring! A few other new skills learnt during this project is Provisional Cast On with a crochet hook and how to make an I-Chord (it’s that little thing on top of the hat). Overall, it’s a major success learning and knitting experience.
Like I mentioned above, the pattern actually called for all 5 balls of yarns, but I finished the project with only 2. (yes, it is a bit unsettling, and I kept wondering what I am missing) But that means, if I do not sell or trade those leftover yarns, I could potentially make another set of beret and fingerless gloves. Perhaps it’s because I made this set in size small. The Cloth Stitches are half slip stitches, so the entire project is extremely stretchy.
ps. the bow was way too big for my head, it made Ri laugh so hard. But I’ve since then done some revisions on it and now it looks more proportional for sure.
