This is one of the first patterns I “favortied” on Ravelry. For one of my previous projects (Fair Isle Fold Over Beanie), I had obtained the exact amount of yarns the book/pattern had called for, but ended up with a ton of leftover yarns. One afternoon, when I was in between projects, I decided to make a pair of hand warmers with these leftover yarns. Might as well, right?
This pair of gloves can be worn two ways because of that beautiful drawstring! It was designed to be single color, but that’s too boring, so I picked two complimenting colors and got to work. Playing with the color placement and put a little spatial funkiness into this practical project! During this project, I learned a new way to make buttonholes, so much easier that the previous method I know of.
I have worn this many times since I completed it. Once during a rage of RA attacks one night, I woke up in pain and immediately went searching for this pair of mittens to keep my hands warm even when I’m in bed. These pictures were taken by my Riri while we were waiting to see the new Avenger: Age of Ultron movie at IMAX. :)
