I am so proud of myself of completing this project!<\/p>\n

Here is why. You start our with 289 stitches<\/strong> using primarily 3.75mm<\/strong> needles and it has a total of 125 rows<\/strong>. Basically that’s a lot of stitiches in very small tiny needles. This is the longest time I’ve spent on one single project, it took me almost an entire week, on tiny needles. I don’t know why I’m stressing the tiny needles but I am, it just makes any sort of progress very slowly<\/em>. Anywho, I finished!<\/p>\n

The pattern is from my Yarnbox subscription in February, the design is by Kitman Figueroa<\/a><\/strong>. They specialize in intricate shawl designs, and it is just so beautiful, so I decided to try my hand at making it. They have various sizes in this design, I made the small one which comes out to be about 21″ x 45″. Even though it looks very difficult, they actually categorize the difficulty level to be easy. I’ve learned a few more stitches like SSK (slip, slip, knit) and SSP (slip, slip, purl) that is commonly used in lace design.<\/p>\n

I used Bernat Handicrafter Crochet Thread<\/strong> yarns in the color “orchid” a pretty dark purple:<\/p>\n

100% acrylic<\/p>\n

approximately 339m\/371yds (the design calls call approximately 440 yards, so I used a little more than 1 skein)<\/p>\n

net weight 85g\/3oz<\/p>\n

I have to admit, I chose the wrong yarns for this project, because the finished project is curling from the side, and the designs doesn’t show because the acrylic nature of the yarn. I should have chosen another type of fingering weight with 75% – 100% Merino so it’s softer.<\/p>\n
