A Nicely Ribbed Sock

Material

  • 200 meters of beautiful ball of Electric Avenue (every ball sold is 400 meters, so I just used half of it)
  • This is a 4-ply 75% Superwash Merino and 25% Nylon self-striping yarn!
  • One pair size 1.5 (2.5mm) circular needles OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE

That’s another pair of socks you didn’t ask for!

This is the first time I used the self striping yarn, and I found this colors from Stray Cat Yarns (I mean, how can you not like a small business with that name?) based in New Zealand! When I first searching for self striping yarns at the LYSs, I couldn’t find any color combination that appeal to me. Most of the yarns I see is of a rougher texture as well. I took a chance on this Etsy store because the color combination is just beyond lovely to me, and the composition is Merino and Nylon which is both soft and elastic, which can’t go wrong as far as socks go.

I wanted to do a simple but more than just vanilla pattern, so I selected this one A Nicely Ribbed Sock by Glenna C. And look at how it turned out! Self striping is SO MUCH FUN. Less work for me, but more beautiful than single color!
