Reasons why I love Ri frog (on the day of our engagement shoot)

1. He takes a random guy from the streets to eat breakfast

We were in downtown Seattle Nordstrom for a makeup trial with an MAC makeup artist (who ended up didn’t show because she had called in sick) on the morning of our engagement shoot session. The person who did my makeup didn’t do a very good job and while I was frustrated with the outcome and the unpredictability of these appointments, a young man no more than 30 in a grass green t-shirt approached us and said he was really hungry and hadn’t eaten for days. Ri being an awesome man, took him to McDonald’s and let the guy ordered whatever he wanted. We walked away so grateful knowing that we were blessed to be able to help others. I asked Ri why he did it, he said “I’ve always just ignored them, but we should love all those Jesus loves, right?”

2. He spoils me with fresh bouquet of flowers from Pike Place Market

I wanted props for the engagement shoot and we went around picking the perfect one out. Originally I wanted something with the sun flowers in it, but we ended up picking one that is of other flowers. Not satisfied with leaving me just a tiny bit disappointed, he went and found a single stalk of giant sun flower and gave it to me. :D

3. He lets me hide behind him when the ballon man were filling up the ballons with helium

Yes, it popped once, and it scared me so much that I think I almost pee myself. But being a gentleman as he is, he let me stand behind him and shielded me from the mean ballon man and helium tank if either of them were to explode. Knowing I was a little frightened, he still let me hold onto the ballons so I can feel like a little kid again.

4. He tells me he is having fun running around with our photographer Joni

Some men do not enjoy being photograph, and sometimes, they also look rather awkward in front of a camera, but not my man. He made the photoshoot so much less intimidating and more fun by saying silly things like we normally do and more importantly, ease my worry that he’s not having fun by telling me that he is. Then he thanks me for being adventurous and also finding our amazing photographer Joni Girvan. He was not afraid of expressing his ideas on a chalkboard even when we both laugh at his works.

5. After the paint war, he tells me not to worry about getting paint inside his car

I mean, seriously, how many man can say that? It is ridiculous how generous this man is! If you see the photos of our paint war, you’d know that we didn’t just make a little mess, we made A LOT OF mess, so much so that Joni had to give us her blanket to cover the car seats because we completely forgot to bring towels to wipe down the paint. We drove home looking like ancient barbarians who just came home from slaughtering the enemy. All the while, making fun of hypothetical scenarios of getting pulled over and the reaction on the police officer’s face when he sees our clothes. It was so much fun, and he didn’t even let me stress about getting paint on the car seats, although we had a hella of time cleaning his car afterwards, :P. But hey, that’s the price you pay for wanting to get messy!
